Insert Symbol

The Insert Symbol command opens the Symbol selection window, which allows you to insert any previously created symbol into your design.

Symbol Selection Window​

  • Navigate forward between symbol libraries using Alt + Tab.
  • Navigate backward using Alt + Shift + Tab.
  • Click on a symbol library to select it directly.
  • Use direction keys, mouse scroll, or type the symbol's short name to find the desired symbol.
  • Press Tab to navigate between different paths and lines.

Search Paths​

You can search for symbols using the following paths:

  • Symbol name (default) — enter characters to jump to matching symbols.
  • Description
  • Identifier
  • Number

Rotation and View Options​

COFASO supports up to 16 different options for each symbol:

  • Angles: 0°, 90°, 180°, 270°
  • Views: Normal, Single, Front, Side

If a particular angle or view is not defined for a symbol, the corresponding option will be disabled. Changes to angle and view are shown in the symbol preview area.

Notes​

  • There is no limit to the number of symbols in the system.
  • When sending projects to other users, symbol libraries are automatically included in a single XML file — the recipient does not need to have the same symbol libraries installed.
  • Symbols are displayed in the language selected at login, if they have been defined in multiple languages.
