EPLAN Macro Import
This process applies only to files with the extensions EMA, EMS, and ZW5.
When you extract an EDZ file (using WinRAR, 7-Zip, or a similar tool), you will find files with .ema, .ems, or .zw5 extensions inside the Items > Macro folder.
How to Import
- In the COFASO main menu, go to Project > Import Project.
- In the window that opens, select EPLAN P8 Macros.
- Add the macro files you want to import from your computer.
- Click Next, then click Import.
After the import is complete, you will find your imported macros in the Macros tab on the COFASO main screen, inside the macro library.
Recommended Folder Structure
If you are importing macros from your local computer, setting up the following folder structure in Windows Explorer will keep your macro library well-organized:
Create a folder named Macro on your C drive. Inside it, create separate folders for each manufacturer — for example: ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Eaton, etc. You can even create sub-folders within each manufacturer folder for product groups such as PLC, inverter, drive, and so on. Place your .ema, .ems, and .zw5 macro files inside these folders, and then perform the import into COFASO.
